7 major components of urban drainage system

Jun 23, 2022

(1) Urban sewage drainage facilities: including indoor sewage pipelines, outdoor sewage pipeline facilities, sewage treatment plants, water outlets and accident discharge outlets. Outdoor sewage pipeline facilities include both courtyard and street sewage pipelines, as well as auxiliary structures on pipeline facilities, such as inspection wells, drop wells, inverted siphons, ventilation pipes, sewage pumping stations, etc.

(2) Indoor sewage pipelines and equipment: its function is to collect domestic sewage and discharge it into the outdoor sewage municipal pipeline.

(3) Outdoor sewage pipelines and ancillary structures: their function is to collect sewage discharged from various buildings, through the pipelines buried in public areas, and set up inspection wells (also known as passenger wells) at intervals along the way to receive branch pipes and Check and dredge the pipeline, and connect the sewage to the pump room when it reaches the end point.
(4) Sewage pump room and pressure pipeline: Sewage generally flows in the pipeline by gravity. For this reason, the downstream pipeline is often buried too deep, which causes great difficulties in construction. Therefore, when the pipeline reaches a certain depth, it is necessary to set up a lifting pump room to pass the pipeline. The water pump lifts and presses the sewage into the pipeline with a shallower buried depth. This outflow pipeline bears a large water pressure, so it is called a pressure pipeline.

(5) Sewage treatment and utilization structures: the collected sewage is transported to the pump room of the terminal through the sewage main pipe, and then lifted by the pump room and sent to the sewage treatment structure. discharge water quality standards. The sewage treatment equipment of these systems is combined into a sewage treatment plant.
Sewage treatment plants are generally located on the downstream banks of urban rivers and away from water supply sources.

(6) The water outlet discharged into the water body: it is the terminal facility of the drainage system. After the water is treated, it is discharged into the natural water bodies of rivers, lakes and seas from the water outlet. In order to prevent the water from scouring, whether it is a shore type or a river center type, a stable and reliable structure is required.

(7) Industrial wastewater drainage facilities: including the internal pipelines of the workshop, the production sewage drainage pipelines in the factory area and their ancillary structures, and the internal pretreatment station of the industrial wastewater factory, etc.
